Siew argues against the common misconception that BDSM is unnatural and perverse by stating that it is a raw expression of sexual desire - as close to natural as it gets. Inspired by Belleveau and Griffith, Siew creates bondage equipment with flattened flora to symbolise the notions of rawness, love and trust that cumulatively build the foundation of the BDSM community.

 

Documentations with Tape was inspired by the contributions of the BDSM community during the AIDs crisis that largely affected the LGBTQIA+ Community in the 1980s. Both communities share similarities in that both are considered taboo and unnatural in conservative thought.
