Two Lovers, Scorned

2021
Expanding foam, balloons, liquid latex, acrylic paint, wire, masking tape

Two phallic objects almost intertwining each other, Two Lovers, Scorned is inspired by love between individuals in marginalised communities. Adorned in visceral textures that some might find grotesque, the sculpture is ultimately charged with a sense of poetry and beauty - love against the odds, solidarity and comfort in a society that denounces union and existence. The world hath no courage like two lovers, scorned.

Exhibited for PULSE Awards (2021) over at PULSE Gallery, Bangkok.
